Now on to April, we have a new moon occurring in fire sign Aries on April 7th at 7:24AM ET. Aries is the first sign in the Zodiac and full of energy, excited and enthusiastic, and we want to take action. We’re coming out of the March eclipses which are more focused on others, and with this new moon, we can focus on ourselves, our own wants and needs, and what we want to begin and get going with. It can be a time of new beginning, new projects, new ventures, and renewed optimism. Why wait to do tomorrow what you can do today? Why wait to do in an hour what you can do RIGHT NOW!!! This new moon is trine (positive aspect) transit (moving) Saturn in Sagittarius, so while we have this high energy, we can be more productive with it. We can work on channeling all of this energy into something that has tangible results and is good for us. This new moon is also conjunct (aligned with) transit Uranus in Aries, so we can step outside of our comfort zones and embrace what’s original, different, out of the ordinary. Be extraordinary! The one kink in the plans is transit Pluto in Capricorn, who squares (hard aspect) this new moon, and we can experience some struggles over power and control, and act a little raging and dominant. Aries can have a temper, and so can Pluto, so let’s try to control ourselves and channel frustrations into something positive to avoid blowing our tops (or inciting any violence). This new moon occurs at 18 degrees 14 minutes in Aries. The aspects for this new moon are: Conjunction: 16 degrees 14 minutes - 20 degrees 14 minutes Aries Sextile: 16 degrees 14 minutes - 20 degrees 14 minutes Gemini or Aquarius Square: 16 degrees 14 minutes - 20 degrees 14 minutes Cancer or Capricorn Trine: 16 degrees 14 minutes - 20 degrees 14 minutes Leo or Sagittarius Opposition: 16 degrees 14 minutes - 20 degrees 14 minutes Libra The full moon for April occurs on April 22nd at 1:24AM ET in water sign Scorpio, and we go from high energy, high enthusiasm with Aries to serious, sullen, dark energy with Scorpio. Here, we’re getting back to reality and focusing on what we’ve avoided, what we’ve hidden away and wanted to run away from and deny was there. A dark underbelly can be exposed, brought out into the cold, harsh light of day, and we have to figure out what, if anything, we’re going to do about it. We can be more serious with this full moon, and we can focus on serious matters and serious situations and serious people. We may need to get a grip! Aries is naturally ruled by Mars, which was the old, traditional ruler of Scorpio before Pluto came along, so we can have some extra warrior energy this month. Let’s make sure we’re using that to fight for something important instead of getting lost in our objections. Things get a little complicated with Mars turning retrograde (appearing to move backward) in April, and is freshly retrograde for the full moon, so we can be extra snippy, snappy, snoppy (okay, that’s not a word). The one good thing about this full moon is it doesn’t make any close major aspects to the other planets. So hopefully, it’s not quite so bad. Scorpio also rules transformations, so we can think about deep changes that we want to make or are currently experiencing, as well as other people’s money (like taxes, debts, loans, inheritances, joint finances), so we can see some developments with that around the world. This full moon occurs at 2 degrees 30 minutes in Scorpio. The aspects for this full moon are: Conjunction: 0 degrees 30 minutes - 4 degrees 30 minutes Scorpio Sextile: 0 degrees 30 minutes - 4 degrees 30 minutes Virgo or Capricorn Square: 0 degrees 30 minutes - 4 degrees 30 minutes Leo or Aquarius Trine: 0 degrees 30 minutes - 4 degrees 30 minutes Cancer or Pisces Opposition: 0 degrees 30 minutes - 4 degrees 30 minutes Taurus Suggested Reading: The New & Full Moons page for general interpretations Fame can be something many people want but few actually get. While there is the potential in almost any chart for fame (check out the free mini e-course, Five Minutes of Fame, and you can see where fame in your chart can be located), it doesn’t happen for everyone. About 10 years ago, I got curious about what could indicate fame predictively, so I studied charts of celebrities (about 100) and what aspects they had occurring around the time they first became famous. There’s no silver bullet for it, but I did find that pretty much across the board, almost every person had a major outer planet transit by Uranus, Neptune, or to a lesser extent, Pluto, occurring at the time they became famous. P.S. Make sure you're signed up for the monthly worksheet so you can keep track of the transit planets every month (and see what Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are hitting you!). Astrological Indicators of Fame
The aspect and the planet involved tend to show the nature of how the person became famous or how they were perceived. Conjunctions, squares, and oppositions by Uranus or Pluto seem more common when the fame is thrust upon you, or you’re not comfortable with it, at least initially. Sextiles and trines made the transition easier.
Neptune aspects seemed to play a role in the perception, their image, and in particular, the hard aspects (conjunct, square, opposite) often showed someone who has an image projected on to them, and they aren’t very happy about it as people see them how they want to see them and not as they actually are. Fame example:
Oddly, I remember Neptune playing a big role in the massive fame that Kristin Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner attained with the Twilight series. Charts below:
In 2008 (the first film), Neptune was square (hard aspect) Robert’s Taurus Sun (and he seemed the most uncomfortable with it all), sextile (easy aspect) Kristin’s Sun and conjunct (aligned with) her Mars (and she was the initial driver - Mars - plus Mars rules her Aries Sun), and conjunct Taylor’s Sun and Mercury (taking him from unknown to heartthrob, though in a more natural way than Robert). While Neptune rules music, it’s also beneficial for actors because they have to take on a role, pretending to be something they aren’t, so the filmmakers lucked out with the main actors having major Neptune transits to their Suns at the same time. Uranus is the natural ruler of fame, and at that same time, Kristin had Uranus trine her Pluto (ruler of her 6th house of work), Taylor had Uranus sextile his Neptune (more Neptune), and Robert had Uranus conjunct his Jupiter and sextile his Mars. Pluto, at the end of Sagittarius, was sextile Taylor’s 6th house cusp and trine Robert’s North Node, but had far less impact than Uranus and Neptune. In all of the charts I looked at, Pluto did seem to be the least indicative of fame predictively; Neptune and Uranus seem to be stronger. This makes sense considering Uranus rules the masses (bringing you before the public) and Neptune rules the arts (the usual way of fame; this may be different for say, social media influencers and reality TV stars who attain fame through a way that isn't artistic at all, but that didn't exist as a thing yet when I did this research!). So, if you’re an aspiring musician or actor looking to make it big, pay close attention to the outer planets in transit, particularly Uranus and Neptune. Aries March 2016 Monthly Horoscope On March 5th, Mercury enters water sign Pisces, and you can keep more of your thoughts and opinions to yourself for now. You may want to take your time thinking things over without any interference from anyone, and you can find other people drain you mentally, so you prefer to think about things alone. Your imagination can be more active, and you can become privy to a secret or two. You can also think more about the past, old issues, and subconscious motivations for your decisions. On March 12th, Venus joins Mercury in Pisces, and you can enjoy the time you spend alone and away from demanding people, projects, or decisions. Your creative side can be stimulated, and you may drawn to the arts. You can be in tune with your intuition and soul, and focus on your spiritual self. In love, you can be affectionate behind closed doors, or keep your feelings to yourself for now. If single, this can be a time of dreaming about a fantasy but not doing anything about it yet, and if in a relationship, you can be willing to make sacrifices for your partner you normally wouldn’t. Make sure they’re worth it first. General horoscopes are always meant for entertainment purposes only. For a more accurate view, read your Sun sign, Rising sign, and Moon sign.
Aries: With Venus entering Pisces on the 12th, you can be quieter in love and keep your affections to yourself. You’re a little more shy with your feelings, and you don’t want to show anything in public. The lunar eclipse on the 23rd occurs in your relationship sector, and things can come to a head in a relationship, and you decide to commit further or let go. A relationship that has been under the gun for the last few years can be specially under pressure now, and this can be the time to make a choice. Aries: With the Sun and Mercury entering your sign midmonth, you can focus on the new projects, ventures, and ideas you want to pursue over the next year of your life. You can take the first steps, feeling energized and enthusiastic about them, and you’re ready to go. You can be more courageous, and willing to go where no one else has gone before. You can benefit from your social network during the first half of the month, and benefit from working on your own during the second half. It’s eclipse time! March brings with it the first set of eclipses in 2016. The first is a solar eclipse on March 8th at 8:54PM ET in Pisces, and this eclipse wants us to embrace compassion, empathy, intuition, and a gentle approach. We have more energy and enthusiasm and drive, but we want to make sure we’re being considerate with whatever we do. It’s not the time to stomp all over someone to get what you want. It’s better to lend helping hands wherever you can instead, and work to help others anywhere you can. This eclipse is square (hard aspect, 3 signs away) Saturn in Sagittarius, so we can struggle at times with responsibility, and with balancing duty and freedom. We can be a little unsure of our goals or lack a clear direction, but we know we’re going somewhere. We just need to trust our gut - the Pisces way of doing things! This eclipse is also opposite Jupiter in Virgo, which is exact on March 3rd (and on July 13th), acting as a trigger for the eclipse energy. This is just 5 days before the eclipse, so we have some strong energy as this eclipse is occurring, and it’s front and center in our minds. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and growth, so we can see a lot of things (or people) blowing up (hopefully figuratively!) with the opposition to Jupiter. Some good things become great, and some bad things become terrible. Try to go for the good. Let your intuition guide you . . . This solar eclipse occurs at 18 degrees 55 minutes Pisces. The aspects for this eclipse are: Conjunction: 13 degrees 55 minutes - 23 degrees 55 minutes Pisces Semisextile: 16 degrees 55 minutes - 20 degrees 55 minutes Aquarius or Aries Sextile: 13 degrees 55 minutes - 23 degrees 55 minutes Taurus or Capricorn Square: 13 degrees 55 minutes - 23 degrees 55 minutes Gemini or Sagittarius Trine: 13 degrees 55 minutes - 23 degrees 55 minutes Cancer or Scorpio Quincunx: 16 degrees 55 minutes - 20 degrees 55 minutes Leo or Libra Opposition: 13 degrees 55 minutes - 23 degrees 55 minutes Virgo Then we have a lunar eclipse on March 23rd at 7:01AM ET in Libra. This is the third lunar eclipse in three years in Libra, and the last for some years to come. Finally, a break for the Libras! You’ve undergone a major shift over the last 3 years, and all of us have undergone major shifts in our relationships, the way we relate and connect, our views of commitment, approaches to compromise, how we balance our lives, and how we can become fairer. No surprise that during these 3 years we’ve seen same-sex marriage legalized, the Black Lives Matter movement spotlighting discrimination, even something like the Iran deal (though who knows if that will stick!). All very Libra! And while emotions have been charged with Libra-ruled situations, we will have Jupiter enter Libra later this year and bring in some nice energy for them. Nice! Here’s the funny thing about this eclipse - it won’t be triggered by Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto in 2016. In fact, the only major trigger was by Mars on November 18th 2015! So we might feel like this eclipse has less energy, especially since the solar eclipse will have big energy. It can just come and go, passing with the wind . . . The lunar eclipse is opposite Mercury in Aries though, so we do need to watch our words and swallow down hurtful, angry speech. Remember Thumper’s mom: If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all! This lunar eclipse occurs at 3 degrees 17 minutes Libra. The aspects for this lunar eclipse are: Conjunction: 0 degrees 17 minutes - 8 degrees 17 minutes Libra Semisextile: 1 degree 17 minutes - 5 degrees 17 minutes Leo or Sagittarius Sextile: 0 degrees 17 minutes - 8 degrees 17 minutes Virgo or Scorpio Square: 0 degrees 17 minutes - 8 degrees 17 minutes Cancer or Capricorn Trine: 0 degrees 17 minutes - 8 degrees 17 minutes Gemini or Aquarius Quincunx: 1 degree 17 minutes - 5 degrees 17 minutes Taurus or Pisces Opposition: 0 degrees 17 minutes - 8 degrees 17 minutes Aries Note: A solar eclipse is a new moon and a lunar eclipse is a full moon that occurs within 18 1/2 degrees of the lunar nodes.
